Our Mineral Export Promotion Work to Europe and UK

AKS recognised that following the withdrawal and decrease in donor-assisted development in Afghanistan, the country will need to develop the private sector to provide employment and contribute to economic growth. AKS identified the mining sector as one area of the economy that could meet the country’s needs, had great potential based on the geological history and setting of the region, and could take advantage of Afghanistan’s location at the heart of Asia.
Funded by GIZ , AKS has worked closely with the Ministry of Mines & Petroleum, supporting the export promotion of mining minerals of Afghanistan to European markets. While this programme is still at an early stage of development, AKS is actively working on the export promotion of talc.
