The second Afghanistan-UK trade and investment conference was held on 14 October in London. The conference, organized ad partnership between the Afghan and British Chambers of Commerce, aims to develop business relations between Afghanistan and the United Kingdom and to encourage British investments in Afghanistan.

Mr. Wais Qais the chairman and CEO of Afghan Knowledge Solutions(AKS), which is an Afghanistan, based consulting company registered in UK and Central Asian Republics who was in the panel said” Alongside previous work which has been carried out by the government of Afghanistan analyzing the potential for expanding Afghanistan’s extractive industry output, I have a personal interest in expanding Afghanistan’s ability to export minerals and agricultural products; especially into the UK and western markets. I have recent experience of the practice myself with challenges and success.”

AKS has worked with national and international investors in the development of economic sectors in Afghanistan; this includes the mining, textiles, consumer goods, and media with expertise in a far wider number of sectors. Support services to Oxiana Mineral Company Survey of Coal mines in North, and Support to the British Geological Survey International were the projects that have completed by AKS.
